Mr. Mike Olsen

Hello! I’m Mr. Olsen.

I am entering my twelfth year of teaching and my seventh year at Provost Public School.

For the 2025–2026 school year, I will be teaching English 10-1 & 10-2, Social Studies 8, Junior and Senior High Instrumental Music, as well as Elementary Music & Art. Having the opportunity to share my love of music and passion for performance at Provost Public School has been one of the highlights of my teaching career. Being able to do so within my home division, Buffalo Trail Public Schools, makes it even more meaningful—a full-circle experience that allows me to give back to the region where I first began my own journey as a student.

I earned my Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta and began my career teaching Elementary Music and Drama. Over the past twelve years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching nearly every grade level in a variety of schools across Alberta. Six years ago, my family and I moved to Provost, and since then our household has grown to include three wonderful children and three dogs. We feel truly grateful to be part of this welcoming and supportive community we now call home.
